What is Gestational Diabetes?

Monitor blood sugar as directed (fasting, before/after meals)
Follow prescribed diet plan (low glycemic index foods)
Regular physical activity as approved by doctor
Insulin or metformin if needed (pregnancy-safe)
Frequent prenatal checkups

Why It Matters:

Uncontrolled gestational diabetes can lead to large baby (macrosomia), preterm birth, C-section, or baby's blood sugar issues after birth. With proper management, most women have healthy pregnancies.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "When one of you eats, let him mention Allah's name. If he forgets to mention Allah's name at the beginning, let him say: Bismillāhi awwalahu wa ākhirahu (In the name of Allah, at its beginning and end)." (Tirmidhi 1858)

3. After Meals:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ

Alḥamdu lillāhil-ladhī aṭ'amanī hādhā wa razaqanīhi min ghayri ḥawlin minnī wa lā quwwah

"All praise is due to Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any strength or power from me."

Blood pressure medications (pregnancy-safe)
Frequent monitoring (BP checks, urine tests, blood tests)
