Practical Guide

How to Use These Duas Effectively

Maximise the spiritual benefit of each supplication with these scholar-recommended practices.

Best Time: Before Iftar

Recite your daily dua in the final moments before breaking your fast. The Prophet ﷺ confirmed this is when the fasting person's supplication is not rejected.

🕐

Tahajjud — Last Third of Night

Allah descends to the lowest heaven in the final third of every night asking who wishes to make dua. During Ramadan, this window carries extraordinary reward.

🧠

Understand What You Say

Read the English meaning before reciting Arabic. Dua made with understanding and presence of heart carries far greater spiritual weight than mechanical recitation.

🔄

Repeat Three Times

The Prophet ﷺ would repeat a supplication three times when making dua. This practice demonstrates sincerity and emphasis of the request to Allah.

📿

Face the Qibla & Raise Hands

Face the Qibla, raise both hands palms up, and begin with praise of Allah and salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ before your personal supplications.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Make Dua for Others First

The Prophet ﷺ said: the fastest accepted dua is when you make it for your brother in his absence. Begin by praying for others, then for yourself.

Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim — Timing of Accepted Dua

The Prophet ﷺ said: "The supplication of the fasting person is not rejected — (especially) when breaking the fast, the just ruler, and the oppressed person."

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions about daily Ramadan duas, answered by our scholarly team.

The recommended dua for Day 1 is: Allahumma inni as'aluka khayra hadha al-shahri wa khayra ma fihi — "O Allah, I ask You for the good of this month and the good of all that is within it." This sets a powerful intention of seeking divine goodness from the very first day.

The three phases are: Days 1–10 (Rahma — Mercy), Days 11–20 (Maghfira — Forgiveness), and Days 21–30 (Itq min al-Nar — Freedom from Hellfire). This division is based on a hadith attributed to the Prophet ﷺ. Each phase has a distinct spiritual focus that shapes which duas are most appropriate to recite.

There is no single hadith prescribing a unique dua for each individual day. However, Islamic scholars recommend reciting authentic supplications from the Quran and Sunnah that align with each day's spiritual theme. The collection on this page follows that scholarly tradition.

Aisha (RA) asked the Prophet ﷺ which dua to recite on Laylat al-Qadr. He replied: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbu al-afwa fa'fu anni — "O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, You love forgiveness, so forgive me." This is found in Sunan al-Tirmidhi and is considered Hasan Sahih.

The best times are: (1) Just before Iftar — the Prophet ﷺ confirmed the fasting person's dua is not rejected at this moment; (2) At Suhur during the pre-dawn blessing; (3) After obligatory prayers; (4) During Tahajjud in the last third of the night; (5) On any odd night in the last ten days for Laylat al-Qadr.

Yes — Allah understands all languages and accepts sincere duas in any tongue. Reciting in your native language with full understanding is far better than reciting Arabic without comprehension. Gradually learn the Arabic pronunciations alongside your native language for an even deeper connection.
